WASHINGTON, D.C. - U.S. Rep. John Spratt (D-SC) today announced his newly redesigned congressional website and the launch of his new YouTube, Facebook, and Flickr sites.
“These sites provide a new and different perspective to my efforts in Washington,” Spratt said. “They are intended to assist me in furthering ties and staying connected to my constituents in the 5th district.”
Spratt.house.gov has been completely overhauled with a greater emphasis on connecting with constituents. The site makes it easier for citizens to:
- Get help or information on academy nominations, consumer protection, federal business opportunities, internships, resources for military personnel, student financial aid, and passports.
- Resolve problems with a federal agency such as disability benefits, immigration, the IRS, Medicare eligibility and benefits, the military, social security claims and checks, and veterans’ benefits, VA home loans, eligibility determinations.

Spratt also announced the creation of his YouTube and Flickr sites. “I wanted my constituents to be able to see what goes on here in Washington,” Spratt said. “YouTube and Flickr have provided me with an excellent and easy way to post pictures and videos that people might not otherwise ever see.”
Spratt, who chairs the House Budget Committee, has also expanded the committee’s online presence. “I am excited to announce that in addition to the excellent resource of the official Budget Committee homepage, we have created a new Facebook and YouTube site. We created the sites because we felt it was important to reach out to everybody we can. These pages showcase our attempts to restore fiscal discipline, create jobs, and rebuild our economy.”
